The Tong-Nou Alphabet is the language that appears in both Eastern Mind: The Lost Souls of Tong-Nou and Chu-Teng. It is functionally a substitution cipher for Japanese hirigana/katakana. The alphabet is used extensively within in-world documents and names. Two puzzles from the first game involve working with the alphabet through interaction with the enciphered computer keyboard in Thi-eng.
